Sixteenth impression of the first edition, published one year after the first printing. A beautiful near-fine copy with the most minor of flaws: a touch of soiling to boards, tiny smudge to fore-edge, and neat ownership inscription on flyleaf. Overall bright and clean inside and out, with all eight plates intact and clean and frontis tissue guard present. We've carried many early printings of this famous novel and this is the nicest we've ever seen. A gorgeous copy, suitable to give as a gift.
