First Edition. An attractive copy with less than the usual cloth mottling; bookplate, else near fine in a price-clipped dust jacket with minor wear, and no fading. There are four jacket variants, of no established priority; green or red, with or without blurbs; this one is in red and with blurbs. The front panel has the book club recommendation sticker (edge chipped), which is of no known bibliographical significance, nor is it an indication of a 'book club edition.' All books described as first editions are first printings unless otherwise noted.

The Thin Man is a detective novel by Dashiell Hammett, originally published in the December 1933 issue of Redbook. It is the last novel Hammett completed and features the characters Nick and Nora Charles, who would later become widely recognized through the series of films made from the book.
