Biro has signed in ink top left. This image occupies over a page in the abridged version of the story told in the Hamlyn Wonder Book of Modern Stories, pages 82-93. The water colour is in excellent condition and it is offered with a near Fine copy of the book in a near Fine DUSTWRAPPER, no inscriptions. Val Biro, author and artist, was born in Budapest in 1921 and came to England before the war to study art. He has illustrated many books for children, especially the Gumdrop series, and for adults.
