"The sixth edition, with sculptures". 4to (317x200 mm). Pp (ii)343, (3). Portrait frontis and 12 plates after Medina. Bound with "Paradise Regain'd "and " Samson Agonistes" - each with separate title page. Full early calf but the binding is shot. The title page has two small areas cut out (lettering unaffected) by a person presumably and hopefully, long since dead. The frontis and 5 of the plates are detached and have suffered significant edge-wear and creasing. A copy for restoration and rebinding.

Paradise Lost is an epic poem in blank verse by the 17th-century English poet John Milton. The first version, published in 1667, consisted of ten books with over ten thousand lines of verse.
