This copy is inscribed to a "Joel" who seemingly helped in the production of the album adaptation of Silverstein's acclaimed first collection of children's poetry Where the Sidewalk Ends. The album won a Grammy for Best Recording for Children, and Silverstein makes a humorous reference to the album's sales by instructing Joel to color the record "gold silver platinum or purple.
