Cloth hardcovers, 423 pages, 352 pages, 416 pages respectively, with folding maps of Middle Earth at the rear of each volume. Gilt lettering to the spines. Fellowship is a December 1954 2nd impression. Towers is a 1956 4th impression, and Return a November 1955 2nd impression. Board corners and spine ends are bumped and rubbed, and boards are somewhat blemished. Foxing to page blocks, pastedowns and endpapers. Jackets are marked and discoloured, particularly the spines, and edges of Fellowship and Towers are torn. Pages are tightly bound, and clear and bright throughout. LW. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. The Fellowship of the Ring is the first of three volumes of the epic novel The Lord of the Rings by the English author J.R.R. Tolkien. It is followed by The Two Towers and The Return of the King. The story begins with the discovery of the One Ring, which had been lost for centuries, and follows a group of heroes who set out on a quest to destroy it and prevent the dark lord Sauron from fulfilling his malevolent designs.
