1895 1st edition. Replacement wrapper in brown paper with hand written titles to front and spine. There are no book catalogue pages at the end. Condition: Good. I presume this is one of the original softback first editions, produced at the same time as the hardback first. It has been carefully rebound, long ago, in brown paper with handwritten titles, with what appear to be replacement, thin paper, endpapers also. [However, it is possible that this was originally a hardback which has lost its cover.] It would be suitable for rebinding in a hard cover. Owner s name to ffep. Very faint signs that a pencil inscription has been erased from the half title.Small right angle cut to bottom corner half title. Light toning. Pages generally clean apart from final page which is rather grubby. This could be cleaned up with care. Binding firm. Size: 8x6in / 20x15cm. 173pp. Weight: 365g.
