Description

Octavo, 1037pp. Second printing, with "Published June, 1936" on the copyright page, and no subsequent printings stated. A crisp, clean, unmarked copy, with the inner hinges strong. A few shallow nicks to the crown, but otherwise a near fine, fresh example. In the correct second-issue dust jacket, with all corners evenly clipped, but with "New Macmillan Books" at the top of the rear panel, and "Gone with the Wind" appearing at the top of the left column. Two rather small chips to the crown, one 2-inch closed tear to the front panel, and one chip to the rear panel, some rubbing to the front outer edge, and the spine very lightly dust-soiled, else a rather nicer than usual, entirely unrestored example; very good or better.

About Gone with the Wind

Gone with the Wind is a novel by American writer Margaret Mitchell, first published in 1936. The story is set in Clayton County and Atlanta, both in Georgia, during the American Civil War and Reconstruction Era. It depicts the struggles of young Scarlett O'Hara, the spoiled daughter of a well-to-do plantation owner, who must use every means at her disposal to come out of the poverty she finds herself in after Sherman's March to the Sea.
