Bound in half vellum with buff coloured cloth; brown decorations stamped to the front board and gold gilt lettering and decorations stamped to the spine. Top edge of text block trimmed. Illustrated with black and white plates, some folding. Previous owner's bookplate to front pastedown. Rubbing along the edges and bumping to some of the corners. Abrasion to the cloth on the back board of the first volume and a small ink stain near the top edge of the back board of the fourth volume. Wear and minor soiling to the spines of the first four volumes. Mild toning to the endpapers and occasional foxing throughout. Overall, a very good and complete set.
