Bound in half brown calf over brown linen boards, spine in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering and borders in three compartments, gilt borders in remainder and on covers, t.e.g., light brown endpapers. Original cloth spine and covers bound in volume one. Illustrated with engraved portraits on each frontispiece, fold-out map in volume two, fold-out "Round Table" in volume three. John Wilson Croker (1780-1857), was a British statesman and author. He was educated at Trinity College, Dublin, where he graduated in 1800. Immediately afterwards he entered Lincoln's Inn, and in 1802 he was called to the Irish bar.
