Through most of the 19th century and well into the twentieth, Tauchnitz issued copyright editions of English and American works to be sold on the continent for travellers and resident English speakers. These Continental Edition were published at the same time as the standard UK editions. Half leather with marbled boards. The books are good++ and quite bright. Edges rubbed.
