The first state identified the author in the Copyright line on the verso of the title page as Joanne Rowling, not J.K. Rowling, and there was an incorrect line break on page [7] (the fourth line from the bottom was dropped after the word 'burnt'). These were amended in the second state; the advertisements first appeared in the third state.

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban is the third novel in the Harry Potter series, written by British author J.K. Rowling. The book follows Harry's third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, where he learns that a prisoner has escaped from the wizarding prison, Azkaban, and is believed to be after him.
