New York: Robert O. Ballou, 1935. Cloth. Very Good +/Very Good. A handsome copy of the January 1935 2nd printing (following the 1st printing by 1 month), in the same iconic pictorial dustjacket illustrated by Stuyvesant Van Veem. Solid and VG+ (a touch of light offsetting at the inner hinges) in a crisp, price-intact, VG example of the 2nd printing dustjacket, with very light chipping and creasing along the spine ends and panel edges, and a 1" chip at the rear panel's lower-edge. Still though, a very presentable copy of a fragile book, a book whose renown as a seering portayal of Jewish immigrant life in early 20th century New York would still take several more decades to grow into.
