A very nice First Edition, First State copy of this classic tale. Salmon-colored covers show light edge and corner wear and some slight bumping to spine ends. Internally, some toning to end papers and beautiful gift inscription on ffep, dated May 28, 1943. Dust jacket shows wear and toning, some chipping to top of spine, 2 tears (<1") to bottom edge on rear of jacket. Has all first issue points.
