Cities of the Plain is the third novel in American author Cormac McCarthy’s 'Border Trilogy'. The novel was published in 1998, and it continues following the story of John Grady Cole, a young Texas cowboy, and Billy Parham, an older American cowboy, as their paths intertwine on a ranch near the U.S.-Mexico border.
