Limited edition No. 167 of 275 signed by author and illustrator. 14.8 x 22.8 cm vellum backed marbled paper covered boards with gilt stamped titles on the spine. top edge gilt, other edges uncut. x[ii] 166[2]pp with 36 black and white illustrations, 15 of them being full page, by E H Shepard. In glassine wrapper and original slip case with label to the front containing matching limitation number and priced at 31s 6d. A beautiful, fine copy that has been well preserved by its glassine wrapper and slip case, with just the merest hint of toning to the free endpapers where the glassine does not reach. The book appears unread as many of the pages remain unopened. The glassine does have a little loss along the bottom edge and a couple of creases but is scarce. The slip case has the occasional light mark but is otherwise very well preserved. All in all a lovely collectable copy of this collection of short stories of a group of children dealing the adult 'Olympians' in their lives, who have wholly forgotten how it feels to be young.
