London: Jonathan Cape, 1958. [James Bond] 1958 'Reissue' (being the THIRD PRINTING overall). Bibliographer's copy. Octavo (19 x 13cm), pp.256. Publisher's black cloth-effect paper over boards, titled in silver, in 'flame' design dust-wrapper by Kenneth Lewis priced 13/6. A rare printing - one of just 2,018 copies. No inscriptions. A clean, fine copy of the book in a bright wrapper with a little soiling to rear panel and some expectedsunning to spine. Overall near fine. The third James Bond novel. An important edition, being freshly set from new type (the type for the first two impressions had already been distributed). Jon Gilbert's file copy, with his pencilled notes and ownership signature to free endpaper. His comprehensive guide to the works of Ian Fleming (2012) won the 16th Breslauer Prize for bibliography.
