This renowned classic has cloth covered green boards with generalized yellowing with bumping to the head & tail of the spine as well as the corners. There is also moderate edge wear to the front & back spine edges with slight staining to the superior board edges. It is a Stated "First Printing" on the copyright page, which is required to be a True 1st Printing. The "running deer" cameo is on the front boards. There is a previous owners bookplate pasted to the front paste down. There is a facsimile DJ on the book. Really still quite a nice book considering it's age & highly collectible.

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe is a fantasy novel for children by C. S. Lewis, published by Geoffrey Bles in 1950. It is the first published and best known of seven novels in The Chronicles of Narnia (1950–1956). Among all the author's books, it is also the most widely held in libraries. Although it was written as well as published first in the series, it is volume two in recent editions, which are sequenced by the stories' chronology (the events of The Magician's Nephew take precedence).
