First American edition, first printing of Gibran's very scarce first book with 1918 copyright date - "Published September, 1918" - and Roman numerals MCMXVIII on title page. Good+ condition. Heavily worn and bumped black octavo hardback with navy backstrap. No dust jacket. Gold lettering on front face of boards very lightly worn. Board tips heavily worn and abraded. Several scrapes on lower rear boards. Interior sewn binding lightly split between FFEP and title page with mandala logo, but all pages still solidly attached to spine. Previous owner's ink name, date and price on upper right corner of FFEP. A clean but visibly worn copy of this very scarce title, priced to move. Photographs available on request.
