Fully illustrated by Pogany with illustrated title page, 20 tipped-in colour plates, scores of other mono and two colour illustrations printed in light green and mauve, some full page, and calligraphic text, all within decorative borders, all illustrated or written by Pogany. A fine copy in the scarce publishers deluxe burgundy coloured suede binding with yapp edges. Lovely bright and clean gilt decoration and lettering to the front board. Top edge gilt, the others untrimmed. Original illustrated end papers. A fine and truly handsome copy of this classic work and a remarkable survivor. The suede bindings of this period are fragile and prone to drying out, often resulting in the suede perishing and the yapp edges splitting.
