G. P. Putnam's Sons. New York. 1966. 383 pages. NF/VG. DJ is a 1st printing. Book is a 7th printing. Original 1st printing DJ with $5.95 price intact on flap. DJ is bright and nice. No stamps or stickers to DJ. No fading to DJ spine. DJ was preserved for 45 years under a wrapper and under the wrapper was this beauty, without any label stickers or darkening/fading. Inside flaps show small tape ghosts or fragments of leftover scotch tape from which the DJ was once adhered to protector. Hardly a flaw as again, this is only on the inside flaps. The DJ does show general rubbing, a few edge creases and some smaller light blemishes to the rear of DJ that has white borders framing a photo of heinlein. This is a perfect candidate for someone looking to marry their first printing to this 1st issue DJ. The $5.95 priced DJ is scarce. As for the book that was married to this DJ, it is NF. Not much keeping this copy from grading nearly fine. very light, faint soiling (if any) to page edges. Tight and clean. 7th printing. Book appears unread. Pages lay tight. A tiny, faint spot of discoloration along edge of cloth panel. Endpapers are bright and clean. This is a very nice copy.
