Small octavo, 315pp. Fourteenth impression, dated 1963 per the copyright page, in matching fourteenth impression dust jacket. A fresh, lovely copy, about fine, in the publisher's green cloth, with just the slightest offsetting near the top of the spine. In a much nicer than usual dust jacket, near fine, with the spine panel gently faded, a few small nicks to the crown, and two closed tears, else very sharp. We bought this copy from the original owner, who received the book new as a child. She declared that she only read the first few pages and decided the book "wasn't for her." A very sharp and handsome copy, in the same design and format of the astronomically expensive first impression, with the dust jacket and all illustrations done by Tolkien himself. Typically found much the worse for wear, this is a nicely preserved example.

A battle ensues, known as the Battle of the Five Armies, involving dwarves, elves, men, goblins, and wargs. In the midst of the chaos, Bilbo plays a pivotal role in resolving the conflict and preventing further bloodshed. After the battle, Bilbo returns home to the Shire, forever changed by his adventures. He realizes that while he has gained riches and experiences, the most valuable treasure he possesses is the personal growth and bravery he discovered during his unexpected journey. "The Hobbit" is a tale of courage, friendship, and personal transformation, set in Tolkien's intricately crafted world of Middle-earth.
