A perfectly presentable copy of the 1963 1st American edition (translated from its original French by Xan Fielding). Solid and VG (light staining along the pastedown and endpaper top-edges, mild staining at the top-edge) in a crisp, price-intact ($4.50), VG dustjacket, with light wear and soiling along the edges (including the flap-edges) and very light chipping at the spine ends. Fading as well to the spine. Stil though, an appealing copy. Octavo, the book that started the entire franchise.

Planet of the Apes is a classic science fiction novel by Pierre Boulle that tells the story of Ulysse Mérou, a French journalist who ends up on a distant planet where intelligent apes dominate the primitive human race.
