1925 photoplay edition with scenes from the Universal production starring Lon Chaney (1st thus). Near-fine with a touch of rubbing to spine and small name stamped on front pastedown, almost completely concealed by jacket flap. In a near-fine dust jacket with clear (barely visible) tape at spine ends and two corners, and slight wear to the reverse. A very attractive copy in an example of the fragile dust jacket that presents beautifully.

The Phantom of the Opera, published serially in Le Gaulois from September 23, 1909 to January 8, 1910, and in volume form in late March 1910, is a novel by French writer Gaston Leroux. It tells the story of a mysterious masked man living in the catacombs of the Paris Opera House and his obsessive love for the beautiful Christine Daaé.
