Bound in half contemporary green calf over green pebbled cloth, with the delineations in the binding ruled in gilt; spine in seven compartments, each compartment ruled in gilt. Red morocco label lettered in gold on the spine, textblock speckled. Bound without the wrappers, half-titles, and advertisements. Lacks the errata slip that is occasionally found in copies of this work. Contains the postscript. Each volume illustrated by a frontispiece with 38 additional wood engravings by Marcus Stone.
