The first English edition of Walden. Bound in green pebbled cloth with publisher's printed spine label. 12mo, 358 pages (followed by two pages of ads). The sheets were printed in America and then bound by David Douglas in Edinburgh, with a new title page and contents page, along with two pages of ads. Condition: Chipping to edges of spine label, otherwise a very good copy. Binding very tight and square, pages are clean. Extremely rare; much more so than even the American edition.
