First edition, first printing, hardback issue, inscribed by the author on the title page, "For Joe Wrzos, best wishes, Roger Zelazny". This is a review copy, with the publisher's review slip dated 22 September 1967 loosely inserted.
Wrzos was an editor at Gnome Press in the early 1950s, managing editor of Amazing Stories and Fantastic in the 1960s, and edited a variety of significant science fiction works, including The Best of Amazing (1967), In Lovecraft's Shadow: The Cthulhu Mythos Stories of August W. Derleth (1998), and Night Creatures (2003).
The book club issue of Lord of Light lacks the "first edition" statement on the copyright page and the code "I43" in the gutter of page 257.
Octavo. Original blue cloth, spine lettered in silver. With dust jacket.
Trivial bumps to spine ends; extremities of unclipped jacket a little rubbed and nicked: a near-fine copy in like jacket.
