BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE COPY OF THE FIRST MADELINE BOOK IN SUPERB CONDITION! Although the only date is 1939, this is a later printing from 1950 as evidenced by the advertisement on the rear panel for Bemelman's book SUNSHINE. What makes this copy desirable is its condition: clean and fresh with a bright, vibrantly colored dustjacket. Stamp of a NYC artshop on the front endpaper else interior fine. Although this is a later printing, the illustration for "They went home and broke their bread" shows 12 girls instead of eleven.
