First edition, 1947, one of 3112 copies printing of Bradbury's first book. A signed note by Bradbury is taped onto the front endpaper dated April 17, 1948-- a very early signature. There are tape marks where the note is taped in. A very good copy with some light wear to spine and some light age toning in a good DJ that has a a couple of chips to the top edge and spine plus some general edgewear and tape repairs but the $3.00 price point is still present, now protected in archival mylar. Dark Carnival is a collection of short stories by Ray Bradbury, first published in 1947 by Arkham House. It was Bradbury's first published book. This collection presents stories with elements of horror, fantasy, and the macabre, as one might expect from the title and the publisher's association with H.P. Lovecraft's mythos.
