About Lud-in-the-Mist

Lud-in-the-Mist is a novel by British writer Hope Mirrlees. It was first published in 1926 and is considered a seminal work of modern fantasy literature. The story is set in the fictional country of Dorimare, which has a strained relationship with the neighboring Fairyland. The novel explores themes of law and order versus wildness and imagination through the experiences of its protagonist, Nathaniel Chanticleer, who is the mayor of Lud-in-the-Mist.
