This copy is from the collection of Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts (1941-2021), reflecting his love of crime fiction and noir, with his posthumous bookplate. The novel was adapted into a film in 1934, starring Edward G. Robinson. This is a first issue, with "F-H" on the copyright page and no price on the front flap of the review jacket, as issued. Octavo.
