Description

Octavo, 140pp. The third binding (blue cloth), one of 715 copies thus, per Edelstein. A crisp, clean, very nice copy, with a very small ding to the fore-edge of the front board, else lovely. Contemporary owner's name on the front paste-down, concealed by the jacket flap; near fine. The rare dust jacket has some long splits at the tender folds, flattened creases along the top of the rear panel, and some small chips at the extremities, but is just holding in one piece. Spine gently darkened; overall good at best, but clean, and worthy of preservation. The highly lauded first book by this great American poet. Fewer than 2,000 copies were printed in total, and thus the first printing is uncommon in all bindings. The book has become seriously scarce in any dust jacket. Edelstein A1a.
