Hardcover has some bumping on bottom of spine and modest foxing; a small pencil mark on verso of endpaper. In the rare, first issued dust wrapper with the publisher's 2/6 net price present on the front flap. Included is a publisher s bookmark from the period promoting "Everyman s Library". Thomas' second book, which consisted of only 730 copies. It includes twenty-four poems plus the ten sonnet sequence beginning with "Altarwise by owl-light in the halfway-house". Other poems include "A grief ago," "The hand that signed the paper felled a city," "Should lanterns shine, the holy face," "I have longed to move away," and "And death shall have no Dominion".
