First edition. In first-issue binding with publisher's blind-stamped monogram on rear board and 32-page catalog with p.[1] headed "THE MANXMAN" and p. [32] headed "OUT OF DUE SEASON" as called for. (Also issued with 16-page catalog, no priority established). Covers darkened, soiled and subtly rubbed, hinges imperceptibly strengthened, and few tiny areas of loss to cloth. Frontis illustration and title page lightly foxed but aside from the occasional finger smudge text block otherwise relatively fresh and clean. Altogether good to very good.
