Repriced with a second state wrapper that originally came with the book. The book was published three times in 1902 and not again until 1914 in this format. Includes a letter from Kipling discussing the book and its characters. A collection of Kipling's well-known animal stories, including "How the Whale Got his Throat," "The Elephant's Child," and "The Butterfly That Stamped." With author's illustrations throughout. Book is very good++ with very bright boards and spine.Contents good with lovely bright pages. Light foxing/tape ghost marks to end papers. The wrapper is very good with light loss to spine tips and corners. Edges lightly rubbed, nicked and with a few closed tears. Inner flap with small loss to corner.
