This American edition (published January 5, 1886) preceded the London edition issued in wrappers by four days and the cloth issue by eleven days. The smaller binding issue was comprised of unsold copies initially trimmed for binding in wrappers that were then later cloth-bound. [viii], 138, [2 blank], [4 ads] pp. Bound in dark green cloth lettered in gilt. Near Fine with light wear at extremities; slight rippling to cloth, gentle bump to bottom rear corner. A very fresh, presentable copy of this supernatural Gothic tale of monstrosity and ambiguity.

Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde is a gothic novella by the Scottish author Robert Louis Stevenson first published in 1886. The work is also known as The Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, or simply Jekyll & Hyde. It is about a London legal practitioner named Gabriel John Utterson who investigates strange occurrences between his old friend, Dr. Henry Jekyll, and the evil Edward Hyde.
