Description

First US edition, first printing, of the author's only short story collection that she lived to see published, retaining the scarce jacket in superb condition. The Hogarth Press edition, published earlier in the same year, was issued without a jacket. This copy is in a binding variant not mentioned by Kirkpatrick, who describes a green quarter cloth binding with brown board sides. On the front pastedown is the bookplate of William Beekman; much of his excellent Bloomsbury Group and Hogarth Press collection now forms part of the Berg Collection at the New York Public Library. Octavo. Original green cloth, pale green paper spine label, fore edge untrimmed. With dust jacket. Cloth bright, minor cockling to foot of rear cover, contents clean. A near-fine copy in like dust jacket, faint toning to spine, a few nicks to edges, remarkably fresh and sharp. Kirkpatrick A5b.

About Monday or Tuesday
