Octavo, bound in full morocco by The Harcourt Bindery with gilt titles and ruling to the spine in five compartments within raised gilt bands, gilt border and Hemingway's signature in facsimile to the front panel, gilt inner dentelles stamp-signed by the Harcourt Bindery, gilt border to the rear panel, all edges gilt, marbled endpapers. In fine condition. Ernest Hemingway's first collection of short stories, published in 1925 by Boni & Liveright, contained fourteen short stories, including "Indian Camp" and "Big Two-Hearted River," two of his best-known Nick Adams stories. With themes of alienation, loss, grief, and separation, 'In Our Time' continued the work Hemingway began with the twelve vignettes and had published in Paris in 1924 as an addition to Ezra Pound's six prose vignettes published in the 1923 edition of 'The Little Review.'.
