London: Chapman & Hall 1843. Small 8vo. Third edition (First edition, third issue). [viii], 166, [2] pp. 5 hand coloured plates and a number of other in-text black and white illustrations by John Leech. Red half calf over cloth boards, with raised bands and gilt lettering to the spine; all edges gilt. Slight wear to joints and light rubbing to extremities, including the spine, which has a small chip beneath the title. Ink inscription dated 1844 and spotting at prelims, becoming sporadic to main text, before getting a little heavier towards the end. Very small tear to edge of page 79. A very pleasant copy of the third issue. The first issue was published on December 19th 1843 and sold out by Christmas Eve. The second and third issues were published in the last days of the year. .
