Williams’ Pulitzer Prize-winning play.  Notably, there is no acknowledgement of the New York Times on verso of title page, nor mention of Lucinda Ballard or Joseph Mielzinger on page xii.  Later adapted into the 1958 film featuring Elizabeth Taylor, Paul Newman and Burl Ives which garnered six Academy Award nominations including Best Picture. 8vo, bound in original tan cloth with black lettering.  In original dust jacket preserved in a clear sleeve.  Bumping and some minor fraying to head and tail of spine with text block lightly toned.  Small bump to top corner of back board.  A previous owner’s gift inscription appears on front pastedown.  Dust jacket has minor chipping to spine ends and corners.  There is some rubbing and shelf wear, along with a closed tear and small crease on the back panel.  The price has been clipped.  Overall, a Very Good+ copy in a…
