This first edition, first issue, final binding state (Binding F) of the authors second published book is in very good plus condition. The green cloth binding is tight and square with sharp corners and only light shelf wear confined to extremities. The spine is moderately but uniformly toned, the spine gilt still clearly legible. The book is clearly unread; there are uncut signatures beginning at the Contents page. We find no spotting or previous ownership marks. The contents show modest age-toning and customary transfer browning to the pastedowns and facing endpapers from the pastedown glue. The binding is protected beneath a clear, removable mylar cover. Frost and his family moved to Little Iddens in early April, 1914, occupying a two-story cottage with a vegetable garden and orchards of apple, plum, and pear.
