A very good plus copy of the seventh printing of the first edition of Tortilla Flat in hardcover. The book has a little overall darkening, but quite tight, square, bright, and clean. Very minor wear at head and heel of spine. Corners still sharp. A one inch tear in the rear endpaper has been reglued. The dust jacket is quite darkened but the blue is still bright. It has wear along edges and several small tears mended with archival tissue. There is a section at bottom of front panel that is chipped off, about 1/2 by 1.5 inch. Photos are the best description. Being a later printing, this is a second issue dust jacket with blurbs on rear flap instead of a Steinbeck bio.

Tortilla Flat is an early John Steinbeck novel set in Monterey, California. The novel was the first of Steinbeck's 'California novels.' Tortilla Flat was made into a film in 1942.
