Description

The signed limited edition of Arthur Rackham's Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens Illustrated with fifty color plates tipped-in on heavy brown paper and original printed tissues. Limited to 500 copies, numbered and signed by Rackham. Bound in illustrated, gilt-stamped full vellum, original silk ties laid-in. Pictorial printed map on the front free end-papers. A near fine copy with clean page edges and no foxing. Front board is only a little bowed, as always seems to be the case with vellum in dry weather. The crowning achievement of Rackham's many illustrated books and the handsomest version. An excellent copy. This would certainly make an impressive gift either for a very close friend or oneself.

About Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens

Peter Pan in Kensington Gardens is one of J.M. Barrie's works that features the character Peter Pan, offering a backstory to the beloved 'boy who wouldn't grow up.' Originally part of Barrie's book 'The Little White Bird' (1902), these chapters were later republished as a stand-alone story detailing Peter's adventures in London's famous Kensington Gardens. It's a tale of fantasy that explores themes of childhood innocence and escapism.
