From Chatham's estate in Marin, California. Chatham spent most of his career in Livingston, Montana, to which Harrison moved from Michigan. Like Harrison, Chatham was a devoted outdoorsman and wrote eloquently about fishing in particular; he founded Clark City Press that published some of his own works and anthologies as well as many books by others in the "Montana Gang" of writers. Harrison is of course best known for The Legends of the Fall. The Road Home continues Harrison's story of Dalva from his acclaimed earlier novel.
