Each are numbered copies from editions of 1500. An exceptional set but rarely seen with additional inscription by Eisenhower, "For Mayor Theodore R. McKeldin, with the warm regard of his old and devoted friend, Dwight Eisenhower, Christmas 1963." McKeldin was a two-term mayor of Baltimore bookending his having served as the 53rd governor of Maryland. He was a key supporter of Eisenhower in his 1952 candidacy.

This book is the first volume of Eisenhower's memoirs of his presidency, detailing the challenges and decisions made during his first term in office.
