The main goal of the trip was to walk most of the way, but the two travelers found themselves using different forms of transport as they traverse the continent. A very enjoyable and humorous work, in which the author blends autobiography and fiction, facts and tall tales. Samuel L. Clemens (1835-1910), who wrote under the pen name Mark Twain, is considered to be one of America's greatest humorists and writers of all times.
