Joanna de Morlot Pollock (at the time 9 years old) was the daughter of Charles Edward Pollock, and his second wife Georgina Archibald. In 1865 Charles married his third wife, Amy Menella, daughter of Dodgson's cousin Hassard Hume Dodgson.
