This is the true first printing with correct five-line colophon of last page, bound by Wolff and paper supplied by Glatfelter. Burkert insisted upon the special paper for the first printing. Red cloth book with blindstamp to front cover and gilt lettering to spine, top edge yellow. Boards are clean and tight, no fraying or wear. Lovely vintage book plate on free fep with previous owner name written in pencil. No other writing. Pages look clean and crisp overall, but I saw three pages with smallish stains in margins; there is a photo of the worst two (together in open spread). Apart from these few stains, the book is very nice indeed. The dust jacket has significant chipping and a few tears, but is a true first jacket, slightly longer (fold-to-fold) than subsequent printings; beware of switched jackets. Original price intact on flap. Please note: this book ships to US addresses only.
