Tall 8vo, 217pp., green cloth stamped in gilt, all edges gilt, gray green end-papers; Paris: Bibliotheque D'Education et de Recreation/ Hetzel, n.d. (1874). The front cover has 3 circles, the center one containing the author & title, and the two others with bouquets of flowers. A very good copy, with the corners bumped, and the front inner hinge starting. 1757-73 at the bottom of the final page.

Around the World in Eighty Days is a classic adventure novel by the French writer Jules Verne, first published in 1873. In the story, Phileas Fogg of London and his newly employed French valet Passepartout attempt to circumnavigate the world in 80 days on a £20,000 wager (roughly £2 million today) set by his friends at the Reform Club. It is one of Verne's most acclaimed works.
