Lawrence's famous book, in the blue-green cloth of the Duckworth printing, on which the second printing date (1916) is shown, i.e. 1st reprint, the title having been initially published, and dated, 1913. Binding is tight and square, corners 'knocked in' as common in trade bindings. There is a nice private bookplate on the pastedown, no other internal marks. There is light foxing on prelims and edges, rest of text is clean. Folds in cloth at spine ends, a superior copy of this fragile and scarce book. Very good condition (no dust jacket).

Considered one of D.H. Lawrence's greatest works, 'Sons and Lovers' deals with the themes of family, love, and the struggles of the human spirit under the shadow of industrialization.
